Abbey Forde Earns Scholarship to Alvernia University

Hard work in high school has paid off for college-bound seniors. Abbey Forde, of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., has been granted the Presidential Scholarship to study Communication at Alvernia University in the fall. Forde is currently a senior at Yorktown High School.

To be awarded this $17,500 scholarship, the recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and minimum SAT score* of 1130 on the old test/1200 on the new one (or 25 ACT). * "Old" SAT scores are calculated using combined Critical Reading and Math sections. "New" SAT Scores are based on the Math and Evidence-Based Reading & Writing sections. Students are eligible for only one merit scholarship.
