Alexis Travers Volunteers for Reading Collegiate Scholars Program

2015 Aug 12

Alexis Travers, of Wayside, N.J., served as a volunteer for Alvernia University's Reading Collegiate Scholars Program (RCSP) in the spring of 2015. The program aims to prepare high school students from the City of Reading to attend and succeed at the college of their choice. A graduate of Mater Dei High School, Travers is studying Early Childhood Education/Special Education at Alvernia.

Through the RCSP, Alvernia is working to help hard-working 9-12 grade students to be better prepared for college. College students like Travers are providing regular tutoring, mentoring, and other activities to high school students in the city through the university's Holleran Center for Community Engagement.
