Andrew Kaucher Presenting at Sigma Tau Delta Conference

Nearly a dozen Alvernia students, including English major Andrew Kaucher of Wyomissing, PA, are presenting papers, panels, and creative work at the Sigma Tau Delta conference in Albuquerque, N.M. this March. The International English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta has more than 870 active chapters across the globe.

Alvernia students Jamie Cappiello, Ryan Cupo, Andrew Kaucher, and Peter MacNamee will present a roundtable titled "Alcoholism & Authorship: Inebriation & Inspiration,” moderated by alumna Megan McCue. Macy Storm will also participate on this roundtable as a junior member of Sigma Tau Delta.

Roundtable Abstract: We all know and love books written by authors who struggled with alcoholism. What caused these authors to fall down the slippery slope of substance abuse? This roundtable will focus on several famous authors who blurred the lines of inebriation and inspiration as a part of their writing and lifestyle.

The Alvernia group is led by faculty members and society advisors Dr. Carrie Fitzpatrick and Chair Beth DeMeo.
