Briana Pearson Elected to SGA in Spring 2016

2016 Sep 12

Briana Pearson of Mount Bethel, Pa., served as a member of the Council of Presidents in Alvernia University's Student Government Association during the spring of 2016. A Bangor Area Senior High School graduate, Pearson is studying Biology at Alvernia.

The Student Government Association (SGA) provides an opportunity for individual leadership and development while also determining, in cooperation with the administration and faculty, suitable standards for university and community life.

SGA leaders, elected annually by the student body, are responsible for maintaining the student voice when issues on campus arise. Other duties include activities such as social events, speaker series, and club activities. The SGA also acts as an intermediary between administration, faculty, and the student body, and maintains order on campus by proposing rules and regulations for the welfare of the Alvernia community.
