Briana Pearson Named to Leadership Position at Alvernia University

2014 Dec 5

Briana Pearson of Mount Bethel, Pa., has been named President of the Environmental Club at Alvernia University.

At the beginning of both the fall and spring semesters, elections are held for class representatives, senior class officers and executive board positions. To run for a class officer or class representative students must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be in good standing with community standards.

In addition, Club Presidents represent the student body by serving as intermediaries between their respective groups and the Student Government Association.

The Student Government Association works to increase student awareness and voice student concerns to both faculty and administration, build a solid foundation between the students and administration, provide active and diverse social atmosphere throughout the university community, and continuously support and fund student club and organization initiatives.

Examples of SGA initiatives include funding energy efficient washers and dryers in the residence halls, creating a disc golf course in Angelica Park, and creating the Alvernian student newspaper.
