Briana Pearson Volunteers for Earth Day of Service

Briana Pearson, of Mount Bethel, Pa., served as a volunteer for Alvernia University's Earth Day of Service, in April 2015. program last semester. The project was part of four service days held annually at the university. A graduate of Bangor Area Senior High School Pearson is a Biology major at Alvernia.

For 2015, Alvernia students helped the Berks County Conservancy by removing vegetation and planted trees at Willow Creek, and worked with the Berks County Parks Department to plant a butterfly garden at Angora Fruit Farm. In addition, student-volunteers planted the first vegetables of the season at the university's Bog Turtle Creek Farm.
