Brianna Whitton Defends Honors Thesis at Alvernia University

2015 Apr 30

Alvernia senior Brianna Whitton of Clifton Heights, Pa., is defending her Honors Thesis "Searching for Altruism: Exploring Ways to Increase Altruistic Behavior in Traditional-Aged College Students" this spring.

The Honors Program at Alvernia University challenges highly motivated students to pursue academic excellence, and to actively exchange ideas and information with other students who have different interests or study different disciplines.

Whitton is studying Behavioral Health at the university.

Each Honors student must complete an informed, well-reasoned and creative thesis with the supervision of a faculty member. The thesis defense is the last step in a process that begins with the exploration of an issue or topic in the student's discipline, and includes extensive research and effective communication -- both written and oral.
