Daniel Kwasniewski Presents at American Chemical Society's 245th National Conference

Daniel Kwasniewski, of Franklinville, N.J. presented research at the 245th American Chemical Society (ACS) National Conference, held in New Orleans, La., Apr. 7-11, 2013. ACS is the world's largest scientific society. Kwasniewski is a Biochemistry and Chemistry major at Alvernia University and a graduate of Saint Joseph High School.

Alexandra Aloia, Daniel Kwasniewski, Brandi Loga, and Kacie Tokarski presented a successful Science Association club poster entitled "Energizing the Community Through Chemistry." The group accepted an Outstanding Award for the Science Association's community activities and the Green Chemistry Award for activities during the 2011-2012 academic year.

Senior Daniel Kwasniewski is President of the Alvernia Science Association, and presented a research poster entitled "Using High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for the Analysis of Additives in Carbonate Beverages, Enhanced Water, and Energy Drinks," which he authored with Dr. Rosemarie Chinni, associate professor of chemistry at Alvernia.

Alvernia's Science Association offers an opportunity for the students of sciences to become better acquainted, to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional association, to obtain experiences in preparing and presenting technical materials before science-oriented audiences, to foster a professional spirit among the members, to instill a professional pride in the sciences, and to foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges facing the modern scientist.
