Elizabeth Magee Helping First-Year Students Adjust to Alvernia University

Elizabeth Magee, of Philadelphia, Pa., is serving as an Orientation Weekend Leader at Alvernia University in the fall of 2013. Magee, is a Occupational Therapy major at Alvernia and a graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School.

An Orientation Weekend Leader (OWL) or Orientation Assistant (OA) is a current Alvernia University student who plays an integral role in New Student Orientation. The main role of all OWLs and OAs is to assist in making new students feel welcome. OWLs and OAs develop leadership skills and meet new people. The program is competitive, and involves a application process, in-person interviews, good academic standing, and training.
