Gabriella Messina Elected to SGA Senate

2014 May 16

Gabriella Messina of Oxford, NJ has been elected to serve as a Junior Senate member in Alvernia University's Student Government Association for 2014-15. A Warren Hills Regional High School graduate, Messina is a Chemistry major at Alvernia.

The Student Government Association (SGA) provides an opportunity for individual leadership and development while also determining, in cooperation with the administration and faculty, suitable standards for university and community life.

SGA leaders, elected annually by the student body, are responsible for maintaining the student voice when issues on campus arise. Other duties include activities such as social events, speaker series, and club activities. The SGA also acts as an intermediary between administration, faculty, and the student body, and maintains order on campus by proposing rules and regulations for the welfare of the Alvernia community.
