Gabriella Messina Participates in Alternative Spring Break Program

Gabriella Messina of Oxford, N.J., spent spring break working to help others in Washington, D.C., through an Alvernia University Alternative Break program. Messina is studying Chemistry at the university.

In a non-clinical based service experience, students spending their Alternative Break in Washington, D.C., engaged with the human side of healthcare, allowing for growth in providing whole person care. Examples of this experience included: serving with persons of all ages with developmental and physical challenges, those who utilize assistive technologies, senior care and services for families who need additional care.
