Jamie Corrone Named to Active Minds at Alvernia University

2016 Sep 12

Jamie Corrone, a resident of Clinton, Conn., participated as a member of the Alvernia's Active Minds club in the spring of 2016, while studying Social Work. Corrone is a graduate of Mercy High School.

The purpose of Active Minds is to break the silence regarding mental health disorders. Club members hope to stop stigmas surrounding mental health, promote truth, help people to speak up and know they are not alone. Active Minds is not a support group, but members can listen, learn, and guide those in need of additional support to appropriate professionals.

ALVERNIA is a fast growing Franciscan university, grounded in the Catholic and liberal arts traditions, that combines diverse academic opportunities with personal attention and an unmatched commitment to community service. Situated on a scenic 121-acre suburban campus in historic Berks County, Pa., the university supports a rigorous and caring learning community that is home to more than 3,000 students.
