Julie Sutton Named to Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) at Alvernia University

Julie Sutton, a resident of Sewell, N.J., participated as a member of the university's Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) in the spring of 2015. Sutton is a Early Childhood Education/Special Education major at Alvernia, and a graduate of Clearview Regional High School.

Representatives of SAAC meet consistently throughout the year to discuss issues and voice concerns relative to the athletic programs and to participate in leadership activities that will enhance the skills and mentality of leading a team. Members of the committee work on things such as developing department wide regulations, instituting new programs, creating an annual agenda, and discussing ways to improve the quality of the athletic experience at Alvernia University. SAAC also reviews NCAA legislation and gives feedback is given to Director of Athletics, participates in a community service project and members have the opportunity to attend Regional and National conferences within the NCAA arena.
