Kayla Rodriguez Participates in Alternative Spring Break Program

Kayla Rodriguez of Norristown, Pa., is spending the 2017 spring break working to help others in Pulaski, Va., through an Alvernia University Alternative Break program. Rodriguez is studying Social Work at the university.

Students taking part in a week long (March 5-11, 2017) experience in Pulaski, Va., work with the Beans and Rice organization which strives to improve the economic well-being of low-to-moderate income families through hunger relief, after-school programs that improve educational opportunity for at-risk children, job creation for low-to-moderate income families, and savings programs that help families buy their first home and children save for education.
