Matthew Junio Named to MAC Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll

2016 Feb 12

Matthew Junio of Edison, N.J. was one of 63 Alvernia University student-athletes named to the MAC Fall 2015 Academic Honor Roll, announced in January by Executive Director Ken Andrews and the Middle Atlantic Conference.

A Freshman on the Crusader Men's Cross Country team last fall, Junio is studying Athletic Training at Alvernia.

The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who earned a 3.2 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) while competing on varsity level athletic teams.

Beginning this fall, the MAC is allowing freshman to be eligible for the conference academic honor roll. (Prior to the fall 2015-16 season, only student-athletes with a sophomore academic status or higher were recognized.)

Women's Soccer led the way for the Crusaders with 16 student-athletes on the list. Cross Country posted 15 athletes, with 12 female representatives and three from the men's team. Men's Soccer posted 12 to the list with Women's Volleyball tacking on 11. Field Hockey rounded out the fall sports, posting nine members.
