Melisa Rivera Selected for Collegiate Choral Festival

Melisa Rivera of Reading, Pa., has been selected to participate in the 2017 Pennsylvania Collegiate Choral Association Festival in Selinsgrove, Pa., Nov. 9-11. Rivera is majoring in Nursing at Alvernia University.

Each year, the Pennsylvania Collegiate Choral Association (PCCA) creates a Festival Honor Chorus experience for students under the guidance of a nationally recognized conductor and pedagogue. The 2017 PCCA Festival will be held at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., and this year's Guest Conductor will be Dr. Mary Breden, director of choral activities at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Singers must pass a rigorous audition, followed by three days of rehearsals totaling over 15 hours, and a concert on Saturday.

The PCCA Festival will be held in conjunction with the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania Fall Conference and the PCCA Festival concert will be the culminating event of the ACDA-PA Fall Conference.
