Miranda Peto Named to Student Athletic Advisory Council at Alvernia University

Miranda Peto, a resident of Phoenixville, Pa., was named Secretary of the university's Student Athletic Advisory Council in spring 2013. Peto is a Sport Management major at Alvernia, and a graduate of Phoenixville Area High School.

Representatives of the Student Athletic Advisory Council meet consistently throughout the year to discuss issues and voice concerns relative to the athletic programs and to participate in leadership activities that will enhance the skills and mentality of leading a team. Members of the committee work on things such as developing department wide regulations, instituting new programs, creating an annual agenda, and discussing ways to improve the quality of the athletic experience at Alvernia University. SAAC also reviews NCAA legislation and gives feedback is given to Director of Athletics, participates in a community service project and members have the opportunity to attend Regional and National conferences within the NCAA arena.
