Ryan Cupo honored at Alvernia University

Top students at Alvernia University received awards at the annual Honors Convocation on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Ryan Cupo from Morgantown, Pa., earned the American Chemical Society Award and the Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award from the department of Science and Math.

The American Chemical Society Award is presented by the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) to recognize a science student for outstanding achievement in chemistry and community service. The Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award is presented to a graduating senior who has completed an exceptional research project in the area of math or science research. In addition, the university's Holleran Center for Community Engagement awarded Cupo their Graduation Award for Excellence in Service. This award is presented to graduating seniors who have completed at least 300 hours of service to the community as Alvernia students. These students receive a special cord to be worn at Commencement.

Cupo is studying Chemistry at Alvernia.
