Shelby Hontz Competes on Alvernia University's Field Hockey Team

Shelby Hontz of Manheim, Pa., competed as a member of the Crusaders' Field Hockey team for the fall 2013 season, the Women's Indoor Track and Field team in winter 2013-14 and the Outdoor Track and Field team in spring 2014. A graduate of Manheim Central High School Hontz is a Nursing major at Alvernia University.

Alvernia is an active member of the Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC) - Commonwealth Conference, the Eastern College Athletic Conferences (ECAC) and the NCAA.

The MAC was founded in 1912 and currently consists of 18 member institutions including Albright, Alvernia, Arcadia, Delaware Valley, DeSales, Eastern, Elizabethtown, Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham, Hood, King's, Lebanon Valley, Lycoming, Manhattanville, Messiah, Misericordia, Stevenson, Widener, and Wilkes. The MAC boasts 20 NCAA National Champions in a variety of sports over its 95-year existence.
