Simone Sims-Riley Named to Active Minds at Alvernia University

Simone Sims-Riley, a resident of Philadelphia, Pa. participated as a member of the university's Active Minds club in the spring of 2015. Sims-Riley is a Psychology major at Alvernia, and a graduate of Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Predergast High School.

The purpose of Active Minds is to break the silence regarding mental health disorders. Club members hope to stop stigmas surrounding mental health, promote truth, help people to speak up and know they are not alone. Active Minds is not a support group, but members can listen, learn, and guide those in need of additional support to appropriate professionals.
