Tatiana Dueno Helping First-Year Students Adjust to Alvernia University

Tatiana Dueno, of Lancaster, PA, is serving as Head Orientation Weekend Leader at Alvernia University for Orientation Weekend, Aug. 21-24, 2014. The weekend is full of events for the incoming Class of 2018. Dueno is a Social Work major at Alvernia and a Hempfield High School graduate.

An Orientation Weekend Leader (OWL) or Orientation Assistant (OA) is a current Alvernia University student who plays an integral role in New Student Orientation. The main role of all OWLs and OAs is to assist in making new students feel welcome. OWLs and OAs develop leadership skills and meet new people. The program is competitive, and involves a application process, in-person interviews, good academic standing, and training.
