Hard work in high school has paid off for college-bound seniors. The following students have earned Merit Scholarships to attend Alvernia University this fall.

Alvernia Field Hockey forward, Margaret Wentzel, was named Fall 2015 Academic All-MAC. "These recipients represent the true meaning of a student-athlete," said MAC Executive Director Andrews. "This is one of the top conference awards we give out each season. It honors our student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the playing field."

Sixty three Alvernia University student-athletes were named to the MAC Fall 2015 Academic Honor Roll, announced in January by Executive Director Ken Andrews and the Middle Atlantic Conference. The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who earned a 3.2 GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) while competing on varsity level athletic teams.

The following nursing students have been named to Alvernia University's Dean's List for the fall 2015 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.

The Class of 2019 has arrived at Alvernia University this fall. One of the largest incoming classes in university history, the Class of 2019 also boasts the strongest academic profile of any first year class.

Alvernia University offers intramural sports to all students, faculty, and staff. Intramural sports offer opportunities to be involved in a variety of sports in a friendly environment. Five sports are offered throughout the academic year, including Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Whiffleball and Soccer.
