Alvernia University

Team members of the Alvernia University baseball team - the Crusaders - captured the 2015 Commonwealth Championship and made it to the championship game of the NCAA Division III Baseball Mid-Atlantic Regional this spring.

The Crusader Cheerleading team performs during all men's and women's basketball home games, and often travels to away games, as well as participating in community events.

The following students participated in the Veterans Club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. The club is dedicated to assisting the veteran students of Alvernia transition from service member to student, and to making that transition as smooth as possible while promoting service in the community, service to those still serving as well as those interested in serving.

The following students participated in the Social Work Association at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. The Social Work Club enhances professional growth in the human service field, promotes a greater understanding of the social work profession, and offers members the opportunity to interact with the community on a regular basis.

The following students participated in the Sport Management Association at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Members promote sport and the field of sport management, to support Alvernia student-athletes, to provide educational experiences and career training opportunities, and to embody and advance the mission of Alvernia University.

The following students participated in the Student Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. The purpose of SHRM is to acquaint students seeking careers in management, human resource management or labor relations with current issues and trends in these fields.

The following students participated in the Science Association at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges facing the modern scientist.

The following students participated on the Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Representatives of SAAC meet throughout the year to discuss issues and voice concerns relative to the athletic programs and to participate in leadership activities that will enhance the skills and mentality of leading a team.

The following students participated in the Residence Hall Association at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members are sponsored by the Office of Residence Life, and live in Alvernia University residence halls.

The following students participated in the Psychology Club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. The club aims to promote interest in psychology.

The following students participated in the Pre Health Club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members are working toward future careers in the health professions.

Club members are dedicated to helping peers become more politically aware and encourage all students to take an interest in domestic and foreign issues through debates and discussions.

Club members strive to spread awareness of philosophical ideas and concepts throughout the community, while bringing together those interested in discussing and partaking in events that further knowledge in the field.

The following students participated in the Student Occupational Therapy Association at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. The SOTA club creates an environment of professionalism among the occupational therapy students.

The following students participated in the InterVarsity club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members ask, "What does God want for our lives in college?"

The following students served on the Intramural Athletic Board at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members organize and manage intramural activities for peer students, faculty and staff.

The following students participated in the Hooked on Helping club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members earn an appreciation of knitting and crocheting through donating handmade goods to organizations in our community.

The following students participated in the Expeditionary Leadership Club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members head outdoors for opportunities in leadership and team building.

The following students participated in the Environmental Club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members work to maintain the temperate deciduous forest, riparian, and freshwater ecosystems about Alvernia University and the community it serves.

The following students participated in the Emergency Responders club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members educate students on the emergency response system as well as interact with emergency responders.

The following students participated in the CURE-sader club at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members raise funds and awareness for all different kinds of cancer and to spread the word of the heroes who may have had cancer, currently have, or have lost their battle and gained their wings.

The following students participated in the Criminal Justice Association at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. The club focuses on all aspects of the criminal justice system including law enforcement, probation and parole, the court system, corrections, and forensic science.

The following students participated on the Campus Activities Board (CAB) at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Club members collaborate with the Office of Student Activities in developing and implementing well-rounded activities scheduled for the student body.

The following students participated in the Black Student Union and Ethnic Awareness Society at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Members are committed to continuing the struggle of equality for all people within society through cultural events on campus and volunteering around the community.

The following students participated in the Athletic Training Student Association (ATSA) at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. ATSA members provide community service and educational services and resources to athletic training students and the general public.

The following students participated in the Alvernia Student Nurses Association (ASNA) during the spring semester of 2015. Alvernia University nursing students are able to broaden their focus to issues and concerns facing the health care profession in general and specific issues facing the nursing profession.

The following students participated in the "Alvernia Sexual Assault Prevention Peers" club during the spring semester of 2015. Club members work to educate the student body and surrounding community on sexual assault and surrounding topics such as prevention and safety.

The following students participated in Alpha Phi Omega at Alvernia University during the spring semester of 2015. Members take part in educational events, environmental remediation, and holiday services at a local assisted living convent for elderly members of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters.
